The first time I was here, the fog was so thick that I could hardly see the tips of my skis. Luckily, the forecast cleared up for this time and I was finally able to enjoy all the breathtaking views on my way to summit Pump Peak.

#025 - Pump Peak

Once again, I visited my favourite Cypress location. I was able to use my past exploration experience and dive into exploring other places. My main destination is the Bowen Lookout.

This time I decided to let the powder rest for a while and chose Grouse Mountain as my next destination. The last of the trio of ski resorts in the Vancouver area that I hadn't been to yet. So deep snow riding goes by the wayside and this time its piste, fresh track, and most importantly much faster, more dynamic, and sporty carving.

I finally got a more favourable weather forecast, which promised sunny with the possibility of super visibility.Also, my roommates recommended this place as something I definitely need to visit and I have to say they were definitely right.

#022 - Hollyburn Mountain

Santa gifted me with some serious avalanche gear, so I needed to test it properly. At the same time, I also finally got to Mt. Seymour resort for the first time, so the real exploration of new terrain can begin.

I've dreamed of this moment since I first touched Canada. One of the best skiing experiences I've ever had. Because I've never seen so much fresh powder together anywhere else.

So I've been waiting for this moment since the summer. When I think of my June travels with skis on my back in the local 40°C, I have to laugh. Anyway, I'm ready.And now all that's left to do is celebrate this, my six-month anniversary in Canada, properly. Because there's nothing better than dusting off the skins and heading out to explore the local area on the skies.

One of the locations that have been on my wish list for a long time. So a trip to one of the largest ski resorts in North America is finally something I can check off. It's definitely not the last time I'll be here.

Autumn got here in BC and I managed to catch very luxurious conditions.I'll show you one of the trails that you definitely can't miss when visiting Vancouver because for me it's one of the TOP things.

#017 - The Seawall

I was running a little late, so I had to speed up a bit to catch this awesome event.The compound was a free one-day outdoor block party taking place outside Monstercat HQ in Railtown on Saturday, September 18 from 2-9 pm. The compound was a celebration of the local Vancouver community, providing a venue for local businesses and performers.It featured two music stages, art installations, clothing, food and drink, beer gardens, music education, live art, games and more.

I managed to get an old-new bike from friends, so I can finally look around the local area independently. And there's a lot to see here. From amazing beaches, parks, piers, bays, and islands to rugged climbs and amazing mountains.

#015 - The Neighborhood

I'm going on a trip by local transport to the nearby Bowen Island, which is not accessible except by ferry. So begins a new reconnaissance mission in a brand new location.Along the way, I've been able to get a lot of information from the locals. And most importantly, I've brushed up on my hitchhiking skills. It works great on the island because the bus runs every three hours and so handily that it always leaves 5 minutes before the ferry arrives.I couldn't miss the adrenaline rush either. I tried a completely new discipline for me when I tried to race the ferry. Look who won.

#014 - Try Not To Drown

I have to tell you, working at heights is a lot of hard work. Sometimes I wasn't that high off the ground, but I had to work all the harder.Or the other way around. I got to a pretty decent height above one of the busiest streets in Downtown, where I just sat in a harness all day and exercised my wrists with an applicator and squeegee.Anyway, one of my favourite passes was when I was 3 feet high and had to get to the ground via a glass podium that acted as a sort of small canopy over the sidewalk.

Based on a recommendation from a Canadian couple on my trip to Grouse Mountain, I was tipped off to this incredibly magical place. I immediately fell in love with it because it's an amazing quiet cove surrounded by wild Canadian nature with breathtaking mountain views.Then I'll move closer to downtown Vancouver itself, where I'll show you the local luxury beaches and at the very end I'll show you what such public transportation can look like too.

There is one small advantage to working at heights. I can get to really unconventional places, where no one can really look right away. Because having the local BC Place Stadium all to myself is a real treat. Plus I get to play Spiderman on the roof.

I present to you a completely new discipline for me. This time, besides the classic window cleaning, I will be facing a very powerful machine that can make a weapon out of water. So be careful, because one wrong shot and I can cut my rope.

#010 - The Water Gun

The time was finally right for me to venture to the other side of the ocean, into the mountains. Along the way, there were several pitfalls and rewards. Climbing up a pretty rough elevation gain. A slight personal challenge of climbing the Grouse Grind Trail as fast as possible following the gondola ropes. A chance to see a real grizzly bear in the flesh for the first time in my life. The final absolutely stunning view of the ocean and all of Vancouver.

#009 - Skipping The Gondola

As I've hinted to you during my quarantine, my new job will primarily involve working at heights. You need at least a Level 1 certificate from IRATA or Sprat to get that job. So let's take a look together at what my new office looks like.A little note of caution at the end: if any of you completely hate the view from high altitude down to the ground you will need to cover your eyes occasionally.

I finally managed to get acclimatized, so it's the right time for a real adrenaline rush. Together with my new roommates, we rent MTB bikes and head out to hit the local trails in North Vancouver.

#006 - Happy Canada Day

I have to tell you that finally now a stone has fallen from my heart because I have finally reached my final destination in West Vancouver. Those who haven't experienced something like this probably have no idea what all that relocation entails. A lot of time has passed since 2018 when my idea of travelling to Canada first came about. Moreover, I wasn't selected for the visa process the first year. The next year, a global pandemic put the brakes on everything, but I didn't give up.I managed to arrange everything I needed for the visa process, work, and housing from the Czech Republic during the last six months.All this effort of mine is slowly starting to turn around, see for yourself. Because I've finally touched the Pacific Ocean for myself.

After an unbelievable 14 days locked up in quarantine at the hotel and then subsequently at AirBNB, I finally got out and was finally able to fully start my first light exploration of the local area.

I have to tell you that I never thought that a 14-day quarantine stay could be so infinitely long. Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do about it. Fortunately, our apartment had a small garden where I could go at least occasionally to breathe and come to other thoughts. Strangely enough, this was one of the places where many other new and interesting ideas were born in my mind.

#002 - The Quarantine Can Continue

Even before my departure, I had a thought in my head that I would like to try to make a short, punchy, and concise montage aka VLOG, which would capture all my main activities in faraway Canada.Although I wanted to film everything in my native language first. However, after one very interesting and motivating conversation with my friend Martin, I changed my mind.Using my native language would be just another setback for me in my quest to improve my English. Even though I know it's nowhere near the level of native speakers, I'll give it a try. Because only by completely switching my mind to a foreign language and trying to speak in any situation can I get better results.Now, let's see how the beginning of my big adventure to the land of maple leaf went. Because today is exactly one week since I arrived in Vancouver.

Absolutely perfect ski-touring weekend in the Giant Mountains. I experienced luxurious sunshine, a snowstorm full of Saharan sand and powder up to my knees. It just didn't make a mistake.

When you know that luxury powder strikes overnight. All that remains is to set an alarm for 5 am, pack the equipment, and go skiing. I have to say that this morning there were some of the best conditions in Jested for the whole winter. Whoever slept lost a lot. 🎿
